Interview with Nellie 29

Hi Nellie, thank for joining me today after you have completed ’The 90 Day Reinvent Yourself Program‘.

Would you be willing to share a brief story to inspire others who may be considering working with a Health Coach in order to achieve their goals?

Of course, so before I started this program I had zero motivation to make any changes to my unhealthy lifestyle. I ate whatever I wanted at any moment and was doing no exercise. You taught me bit by bit small steps towards a healthier way of living and this style of progression made it easier to maintain, rather than just jumping straight into the deep end and changing everything all at once, a sure way to fail!. You taught me about how to really listen to what my body is telling me. The things I learnt in this program are things that everyone should just know and practice but just need to be taught how. This was all done in a kind and supportive environment, with constant messages to not beat yourself up over slip ups and to always give yourself a pat on the back for every positive decision you make no matter how small it may seem.

What was your main reason or goal for joining the 90 Day Reinvent Yourself Program?

To control my cravings and emotional eating.

How much progress did you feel you made?

I made significant progress, my fitness improved, gut health improved and overall had healthier habits. I also experienced some surprising results I wasn’t expecting

What were the surprising results?

I hadn’t realised that my time spent on social media and staying up late watching programs was having such an adverse effect on my health, so I was able to cut down and switch off more which was great, and switching off more left me with more time for more important things, like self care and a healthier life balance.

Did you feel like being apart of the course was a good investment?

Yes, I definitely feel it was worth it, and I felt like I was being heard and that you had the time for me as well, it was a safe place for me to express what was happening in my life without any judgement. 

How did you feel about the weekly tasks?

I felt good about the weekly homework, it wasn’t too much to handle, very realistic, especially since I was travelling at the time, so being able to incorporate new habits even then made a big difference, and I felt supported throughout the experience, even when I feel off track at times.

Would you recommend this program?

Yes I would, I wasn’t really sure what I was in for in the beginning or whether or not it would even work but going through the program and seeing a change within myself over the 12 weeks was amazing, giving it a go was all it took.

Interview with Greg 63

Hello Greg, lets start with you telling me a little about your main health concerns when starting the 90 day program.

For me it was my flexibility and weight.

What were you expecting to get out of the 90 Day program?

I was feeling a bit slumped, I wanted to wake up brighter, more energy and I really wanted to be a healthy role model for my granddaughter.

What were some habits that you had that you wanted to change?

No self discipline when it comes to snacking, especially when I am working from home and the pantry being a short walk away, food is far too accessible. I was also after some exercise guidelines.

Did you see any results after the program?

Initially in the first 2 weeks I had lost a couple of kilos which was very encouraging, during the program with the continued support I kept up my exercise routine and could touch my toes again, first time in 40 years! I now do regular Pilates, walking, go to markets for fresh food on the weekends, drinking a lot more water and the weight is coming off.

What unexpected results did you achieve?

I no longer needed the afternoon nap, kicked my chocolate habit, and I had a serious addiction. Plus we also got to discuss my relationship with food and how when I was feeling stressed or frustrated is when I was snacking more and comforting myself with food, I was unaware of the psychological side of my eating habits. I can now catch myself before mindlessly going ahead, I have changed my thoughts around food.

How did you feel about the structure of the program?

I loved the mid week encouraging messages in between calls, a great reminder to keep on track and also all the action steps were simple enough to integrate but made all the difference. I knew that during my calls I could forget about everything else going on in my life and have a chat. They were invaluable.

Anything else you would like to add?

You have really been the catalyst for change, once I started to focus on my health more, other things seemed to fall into place from there, and really that you have to create your own change, you have to change your own mind to really change, and this program allowed me to do that.
